Dr. Anne Borik

Welcome to DocTalk Radio ….brought to you by Gilbert hospital and Florence Hospital at Anthem.
I am Dr. Anne Borik your host for the show and I’m here to talk about and answer any questions you might have pertaining to the clinical practice of Medicine.
I am board certified in Internal Medicine and currently practice at Gilbert hospital and Florence at Anthem hospitals. I am a ‘hospitalist’. That’s right, a hospitalist. If you don’t know what it is I will tell you all about it. But first, let me tell you about me as your new host for this show… DocTalk Radio.

I was born in Pittsburgh, Pa
Graduated from Temple University and the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. I did a rotating internship in Dayton, Ohio and then completed my Internal Medicine Residency at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh. I am board certified in Internal medicine and currently practice at Gilbert hospital and Florence Hospital at Anthem. I have been on staff at virtually all of the hospitals in the Phoenix area and was voted one of the Valley’s Top Docs in the practice of Medicine.
My background is in Exercise Physiology and currently serve as the founder and Medical Director of Wellness for Gilbert Hospital and Florence Hospital at Anthem. This is a program dedicated to keeping the staff healthy and well.
My interests include training in the Martial Arts. I started karate at the age of 8, and I ‘m a 3rd degree black belt in Karate. I was once ranked third in the world in Women’s Black Belt division., and yes I still practice and workout when I have time.
While competing in karate, I was also a high school track and field athlete. Javelin and discus were my events. I actually received a full scholarship appointment to West Point Military Academy for Track and field, but at the time I declined it and decided I did not want to be in the military. It was a great honor and for that I am grateful.
After my residency training, I moved to Arizona in 1995 and have been here ever since. I first started out in an office practice, seeing patients in my office as well as in the hospital. But, decided to be one of the handful of docs at that time in 1997 to start what is now called a hospitalist practice.
